There’s actually a bit of science behind this strategy of using your Softub to improve your sleep.
Your body naturally lowers its temperature to prepare for sleep. It’s one of the things that makes you feel drowsy.
Soaking in your Softub for 15-20 minutes (about 30 minutes before bedtime) will raise your body temperature. Leaving the water will speed up and multiply your body’s natural sleep prep cool down cycle.
Once you leave your Softub, dry off and get ready for bed. You’ll be ready to catch the train to dreamtown.
Before you use your Softub, prepare your house and everything else you need to so that you can head straight to bed after your soak session.
Once you do get into your Softub, be sure to dim all the lights. Consider lighting some candles - ideally aromatherapy candles. Play your favorite relaxing music softly, lean your head back, and relax. Maybe treat yourself to a nightcap if you imbibe. Bedtime tea is a good choice as well.
Try to resist the temptation to scroll through your social media feeds. Staring at screens could cancel out all of your other efforts to get to sleep early and deeply.
